Committed Keyworth performance keeps momentum going in Sunday scrum fest!

Keyworth 13s arrived in Derby with some players back from injury to replace the ones who were now injured.
As we arrived we could see the Derby team warming up preparing for the game. In his usual pre-match ritual Pharrell advised us that 'they were big' - I can't wait for 'small team' to arrive one week as that'll really throw him!
We counted the numbers and as Dom had his last few winks of sleep under that warm cosy duvet, we prepared for the kick off. We set a solid front row with Dillon, James P and the returning Toby. James W was promoted to a 2nd row start following his sideways running and tackle aversion tactics in the last couple of matches alongside Harry. Pharrell returned at 8 following a great midweek game. George at 9 with Danny, Josh and Fin in the centres allowed Alec and Oweyn on the wings and Owen at fullback.
We started very brightly - the centres all pushed a great line of defence when we didn't have the ball but supported the forwards with great runs. Josh, Daniel and Fin were dominating and the tries soon started to come. By half time we had built a 6-3 lead. Sloppy handling in difficult conditions had created opportunities for Derby and with their power and pace they easily put them away. The forwards were all having their best games of the season - with the slippy ball and scrum after scrum they were relishing the opportunities. They all had their best games of the season notching up useful scores along the way. James W started to tackle again probably because he had to do it instinctively and not think, H started to run and gain ground without losing the ball in an excellent performance. Toby scored 2 blindside tries and Dillon and James ran intelligently throughout. Unfortunately Fin landed badly after a tackle and had to leave the field which disrupted us a bit but allowed Oweyn to take over the tackle king birth putting in some excellent try saving tackles as Derby came back into it. Once we had awoken the back 3 we finished the game with a quality try. Dom and Bailey made returns to play in a good squad performance against a good Derby Team.
