Glorious sunshine welcomed the 2 teams of Moderns Warriors to the Widmerpool cauldron.
The Don led the stating 7 to face his former comrades and showed immediate local knowledge in allowing moderns to win the toss. The whistle went and the ball quickly got turned over as Arnie steamed in aptly marshalled by Silky and Roar. The Wasp quickly got on the ball and sent the Maori racing away. The boys were ahead.
We turned it over again and Poster boy fed the Maori for Curly to steam over. Good rugby all round.
The Warriors switched teams and we jigged the line up. Silky with the new found mojo remained rampant and the Bolt kept steaming through. The ref aggravated the Wasp by disallowing a try only for the Wasp to show his sting moments later with some clever play. Manu returned from the roundball and hit anything that moved, keeping hold until motionless, something that earned a notable MOM performance. We kept hearing the new roar from Roar as teams swapped again. Tries were exchanged, Choirboy jinked one way then the next, rugby was his tune today!
